IMD (International Institute for Management Development) is currently one of the leading business schools in the world. This was confirmed by Forbes when it selected IMD as the most important business school globally in open programs outside of the United States in 2018. It is also recognized by the Financial Times as the most important business school in the world in executive education.

IMD has its own software development department, composed of multidisciplinary and international teams, responsible for supporting the school's internal systems and its public web platforms.

Under the described context, and due to its need to incorporate highly skilled personnel in agile project management and software development, IMD contacted Sixphere. The collaboration began and solidified based on the values and work culture that characterize us: security, trust, professionalism, and personalized client service, assuming their goals as our own. But what is Sixphere's specific role in such a large-scale and international project?

Sixphere provides an expert and skilled team in two distinct but highly complementary areas required by IMD: project and team management, and software design and development across multiple platforms, all with the added benefit of being globally distributed teams. More specifically, the solution provided by Sixphere consists of:

Provide expert knowledge in agile project management for the efficient coordination of remote and international teams. Develop high-quality evolutions and new features on the company's corporate platforms. Ensure the quality of deliverables and the integrity of the new versions generated on corporate systems. Provide efficient and expert maintenance in an international and fully decentralized context.

The success of the project, demonstrated by the 8 years of continuous collaboration between IMD and Sixphere, which is still ongoing today, shows us the importance of developing talent not only at the technological level—something of course indispensable (after all, it is our profession)—but also in project management and the ability to integrate with remote teams and across different disciplines.

On the other hand, it also demonstrates that achieving and implementing an agile development and delivery method over a prolonged period of time, even in changing contexts, is possible if one commits to it and, of course, if it evolves and improves continuously. In short, a project that perfectly exemplifies Sixphere's commitment to digital culture.
